Gregory Peck in “The Great Sinner” (1949)

The Great Sinner is a 1949 American drama film directed by Robert Siodmak. Based on the 1866 short novel “The Gambler” written by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, the film stars Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Frank Morgan, Ethel Barrymore, Walter Huston, Agnes Moorehead and Melvyn Douglas. (Wikipedia)

The film flopped at the box office, and I can imagine why. The Herald Tribune called it “pompous and dull”, I call it silly. Everybody who enters the casino in Wiesbaden immediately suffers from gambling fever, Peck’s character, Fedya, even physically. Well, it’s light entertainment, not a great Dostoyevsky adaptation.

Anyway, Gregory Peck sure looks fine! ♥

Ava Gardner & Gregory Peck in “The Snows of Kilimanjaro” – KARMA (Lady) MV

I first heard that song on True Blood (Season 7) and fell in love with it. I simply had to use it for one of my videos:

“The Snows of Kilimanjaro” (1952)

starring Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, and Hildegard Knef (credited as Hildegarde Neff).

Writer Harry Street reflects on his life as he lies dying from an infection while on safari in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro.

“Kilimanjaro is a snow-covered mountain 19,710 feet high, and is said to be the highest mountain in Africa. Its western summit is called the Masai ‘Ngje Ngi,’ the House of God. Close to the western summit there is the dried and frozen carcass of a leopard. No one has explained what the leopard was seeking at that altitude.”

Music: Lady – Karma (True Blood Season 7 OST)

Just Pics: Gregory Peck vs. Daniel Henney

A few weeks ago, the folks at BTSCelebs suggested to shoot a remake of the Hollywood classic “Roman Holiday” (1953) starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. Their perfect cast for the reboot: Keira Knightley and Daniel Henney.

I love the idea, since Gregory Peck and Daniel Henney are two of my favorite actors. They have a lot in common, especially their good looks. Enjoy! 😀
